John Nkum has over 35 years international consulting experience in process facilitation, organization development, project cycle management, and executive coaching.
He has undertaken several assignments in these fields within Africa and Europe for the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), the British Department for International Development (DFID), the World Bank, UNDP, EU, AfDB, IFAD, AFD, KfW, UNICEF, and many other international development agencies. Mr Nkum has also facilitated organization development and change management processes, including whole system change, team building, group dynamics retreats, multi-stakeholder dialogue processes and executive coaching for many national and international development agencies; and also for corporate bodies such as IBM, Cadbury, Merchant Bank, Ghana Ltd., Ecobank, Multimedia Ghana, and other corporate institutions in Ghana.
John Nkum is a Partner of Jonno Hanafin Associates, New Jersey, USA, in which capacity he has facilitated a number of Leadership Development processes in IBM, along with other OD assignments. He is a founding Partner of GestaltOD Partners LLC, a US-based organization delivering the International Gestalt Organization and Leadership Development (iGOLD) program. John Nkum has served as faculty, and is also a member of the Founders’ Circle of the Organization & Systems Development Integrative Study Centre, Ohio, USA, and a certified user of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) since 1998. He is the founder and Executive Director of Nkum Associates, a consulting firm, and the Organization Development Centre-Ghana, a non-profit entity offering consulting, training and capacity development in OD and project management, and has trained about 100 GestaltOD practitioners in Ghana and over 350 internationally.
He has a Masters Degree in Development Planning and Management (1988), and a number of Post Graduate certificates in Gestalt Approach to Organisation and System Development, Gestalt Approach to working with intimate systems, Executive Coaching, and Process Oriented Supervision in Multicultural Contexts. He is also an ordained and gazetted Reverend Minister, and the Senior Associate Pastor, second in charge of the Tesano Baptist Church in Accra, Ghana, where he volunteers his services in preaching, teaching, counselling and couples/family therapy.
